This course covers Forms Updates, Rule and Regulations of the Virginia Real Estate Board and Chapter 21 Title 54 of the Code of Virginia as it pertains to real estate licensees. It also covers Advertising by Licensees and how the principal broker supervises to stay within the Code of Ethics Article 12.

At the conclusion of the course the class will review what they have learned and discuss the importance of understanding the laws, regulations and disclosures in our industry and how these provide information and protection to the public and the licensee when dealing with real estate matters.

This class meets virtually from 6PM until 9PM on Monday, August 22, 2022 AND Tuesday, August 23, 2022.   Attendance at both sessions, in their entirety, is required for credit.  No partial credit can be earned.

Robin brings 29 years of experience in Real Estate Sales, Investing, and Property Management Services. She has been the Managing Broker of Brown-Carrera Realty for 22 years where they effectively list and sell homes while managing 275 to 350 properties annually here in Loudoun County. As a DAAR member for over 25 years Robin continues to learn about her trade obtaining various real estate designations. Robin also created and teaches a 2-hour CE course called “Working with Renters”. She has received many accolades such as Educator of the Year Award in 2020 as well as the DAAR Platinum Circle of Excellence Award.      

Sonia R Downard
Sonia received a Bachelor’s degree in Finance degree from American University in 1999, and graduated from the George Mason University School of Law in 2002. She started working in the real estate industry immediately after graduating from law school in 2002. Sonia left real estate for a few years to be a public defender but was excited to return to her professional roots in 2010. She has conducted thousands of real estate settlements and represented clients in all aspects of the real estate industry, including short sale transactions, contract negotiations and disputes, and landlord-tenant disputes. Sonia is a member of the Virginia State Bar, the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors® Brincefield Attorney Roundtable, and Virginia Association of Realtors® Attorney Roundtable. When not at the office, Sonia enjoys spending time with her husband Michael and their chihuahua Dio.

Cancellations & cancellation requests for paid education will be accepted through 5:00 p.m. three business days preceding each class and a full refund will be issued.

Cancellations after the deadline will incur a $5 processing fee with the exception of Designation/Certification and Specialty courses.  Designation/Certification, and Specialty courses will be refunded 50% of the registration fee.

No Shows will forfeit class registration fee.
