This course will teach you legal guidelines for all stages of the transaction. We will cover: nature of real estate law; legal interests in real estate; purchase agreements; closing the transaction, financing the transaction and government regulation; environmental laws; liens; mortgages, deeds of trust and more. Students will have a project of picking a settlement company and following the process from receipt of contract to the final funding. This 45 hour course satisfies the educational requirement for the Law portion of the Real Estate Broker Pre-License training required for a Broker License in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The fee includes tuition and materials.

Class will be conducted on the following dates.  Attendance at all sessions is mandatory. April 11, 2023;  April 13, 2023 April 18, 2023 April 20, 2023 April 25, 2023; and  April 27, 2023.

Allan Marteney
Allan Marteney is a native of the Washington, D.C. area and has held a real estate license since 1978. He is now celebrating 40 years as a full time professional in his field.

He obtained his broker’s license in 1986 and has vast sales and management experience plus exceptional knowledge of the local real estate industry.

Allan has over 3 decades of teaching experience instructing in Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C. and has developed numerous courses for various state approvals and has served many times as a course reviewer for a major publishing company.

He has taught pre and post license real estate courses as well as new and advanced agent training to thousands of students in the Washington metropolitan area and helped several local real estate firms develop their training programs.

His professional teaching manner is both informative and entertaining. Outside of the classroom, Allan has over 20 years of real estate management experience and owned and operated a multi office DC area Real Estate firm and has received numerous industry awards and recognition.He currently holds the professional designation GRI.

Cancellations & cancellation requests for paid education will be accepted through 12:00 p.m. three business days preceding each class and a full refund will be issued.

Cancellations after the deadline will incur a $5 processing fee with the exception of Designation/Certification and Specialty courses.  Designation/Certification, and Specialty courses will be refunded 50% of the registration fee.

No Shows will forfeit class registration fee.
