Consumer demand for high-performing homes – homes that are comfortable, healthy, and energy efficient, or that generate renewable energy – has been growing steadily during the past decade. Over two million homes have been built to high-performing standards and millions more have high-performing features. Appraiser-led research from Virginia shows that buyers are willing to pay a 5% premium for these homes because they value low energy bills and they are increasingly interested in efficient equipment, smart devices, and features that create healthy indoor air. However, without proper marketing, the typically invisible features that offer those benefits go unnoticed and undervalued.
Real estate professionals who take this course will be able to:
• Help sellers realize the full and fair value of their clean and energy efficient investments.
• Introduce clients to the new extensive federal rebates and incentives that will help them pay for upgrades which will change the living experience that they have in their homes.
• Differentiate themselves as the source of information on high-performing homes in their market.

You will also hear from Woody Fincham, an expert in appraising high performing and solar homes.
